A benefit for Ashlea

On 28^th May we were brought together with friends, family and loved ones of Ashlea. An employee of Lakeside, our longest serving, has been diagnosed with an extremely rare type of brain tumour called Ependymoma, she regularly undergoes radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Although she has already received two operations a third is a real possibility. Vince decided to hold a benefit dinner to raise money for her recovery. The staff donated their wages on the night and Lakeside donated the total earnings, all the proceeds went to Ashlea.

On the night, sadness was in the air, yet MC Sylvester managed to arouse some laughter from the group and with the help of the Gai raffled off Items donated in an auction like fashion. From chocolate and snacks, to vouchers, handmade towels and a Lego set. The crowd loved the fun energy that was captured. When the auction was complete the bunches of beautiful gerbera flowers and the perfectly potted cyclamen were offered up. The last item thrown into the mix was an intimate exclusive dinner for six guests at Lakeside with seasonal dishes and top shelf wines and spirits from Vince’s private collection.

200 guests purchased tickets for the night with their, Vince and the staff’s generosity over $24,000 was raised for Ashlea.
